Floats / Upper District · 6.8 mi
Easier water than the upper run with good swimming holes. Status uses the Pruitt gauge.
No active NWS flood or severe-weather alerts for Newton, Boone counties right now. That isn’t a safety guarantee — rain anywhere upstream in the watershed can raise the river fast, even under clear skies where you are. weather.gov/lzk
Not really. Below the NPS low range you’ll drag over riffle after riffle. Consider a reach further downstream, or a hike instead.
Usually floatable: March–June, and briefly after heavy rain (typical Upper District pattern per NPS; not a forecast)
Too low? Things to do instead →3.36 ft · 55.1 cfs
