Independence

Buffalo Float Alert is an independent website. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with the National Park Service, USGS, NWS, or any business we list. Listing a business is not an endorsement. Businesses can request an update or removal.

Accuracy & safety

River conditions change quickly and our data can be late, wrong or missing. Status labels, difficulty ratings and trip suggestions are guidance, not guarantees. You are responsible for your own safety: check NPS conditions and current weather, wear a life jacket, and don’t float when in doubt. NPS 24-hour dispatch: 1-888-692-1162.

Privacy

If you sign up for alerts, we store your email address, the float or gauge you chose, your alert settings and optional trip date. We use them only to send the alerts you asked for which are sent through our email provider, Resend. We don’t sell or share your email. Every email has an unsubscribe link; unsubscribing stops all emails for that alert. To have your data deleted, email hello@buffalofloatalert.com.

We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits; it is cookieless and doesn’t track you across sites. Our host (Cloudflare) processes standard request logs to run and protect the site.
